Hope is the thing with feathers…

Emily Dickinson wrote:

“Hope is the thing with feathers

that perches in the soul

And sings the tune without the words

And never stops at all.”

Lovely thought. How often do we do this - hum and sing to ourselves as the melody makes us feel good, unmindful of the words.

I’ve always admired all the authors, the poets and my favourite classic writers, how words come in an easy way.  However, all of us are blest, writers or not, if we can think of hope as a melody, and so it can keep us going.

May we be able to find that melody of hope within us. How a simple quote from a great poet can inspire.
