~In Search of Lost Time

Have you ever spent practically the whole day updating something online only to be kicked out by the system repeatedly? In the end, still unsuccessful? That’s exactly what happened to me the last couple of hours.

What came to mind is Marcel Proust’s book In Search of Lost Time or more often referred to as Remembrance of Things Past. At this point, I obviously prefer the first title-phrase, In Search of Lost Time, since I am in search of my lost time.

Proust’s opening line is: ”For a long time I used to go to bed early.” Remembrance of Things Past is Proust’s 7-volume masterpiece he is famous for. In the book, he is also the narrator. Actively, he does not remember his childhood, but accidentally recovers it at a later time… through the taste of a piece of madeleine in tea.

I’ve deviated somewhat but it’s always a good feeling to relate. Something past, something present. In search of lost time. Then and now.

And, for friends and readers who might want to get hold of Proust’s Remembrance of Things Past or In Search of Lost Time,  perhaps while you are at it, how about a nibble on madeleine, French tea cookies?
